So last Sunday at church they discussed not making resolutions because they tend to be over looked and just rushed on to the next year where you don't complete them then either. However, if you make goals that have realistic outcomes you will have a better chance at succeeding. So this year I'm making goals. In following with my best friend I'm only making a few small achievable goals instead of a lot that i know I won't be able to achieve.
Personal goals:
1. Be a better wife: I plan to work harder to keep my house cleaner and treat my husband better. I know I have the tendency to difficult and to cause more arguments than I settle.
2. Better my self: I 'm not going to set a weight loss goal because I know that just makes it harder for me to keep my goal. So I plan to start walking more and eating less. Natalie at one point told me that she used to walk the stairs in her house. Well we don't have any stairs inside but I want to try and do some stair stepping outside on the porch.
3. Get a job: I know this is going to be a hard goal to achieve but I know that something will come along if I keep my head held high and work hard.
Family Goals:
1. Visit my in laws more often: Visiting my mom more will be more difficult due to the gas but Reggie's parents live across the street and we rarely see them. Reggie and I have decided that we're going to try and go over there at least once a week.
2. Spend more time together: We spend a lot of time in World of Warcraft together and we are always int he living room together but we don't really interact as much as we should. We're going to start eating in the kitchen at the table this year with out the TV on and the games turned off. No distractions.

The Holidays
So I really suck at blogging but I really haven't had anything to blog about that wouldn't sound like me whining and being all depressed. It just makes me more depressed. However, we've had a good few months. Things haven 't really gotten better financially but the church has been so wonderful in helping us. I don't know what I would have done with out the lord stepping in and allowing for us to have the help that we needed.
Thanksgiving was good. Reggie and I managed to find a 15 pound turkey for 6 dollars. Yes you read that right SIX dollars. If that wasn't a gift from god I don't know what is :) Reggie's dad fried it up Cajun ( that doesn't look right but that's how spell check says its spelled) and it was So delicious. It was a good day with the in laws. I truly love my mother in law.
Christmas Eve was spent with my in laws. We opened our gifts and ate a ham dinner. Its amazing just how wonderful a small Christmas is. I really thought that Christmas was going to be such a downer since Reggie and I couldn't give gifts this year but in fact, I almost think it was the best Christmas I've had in a long time. I really had a wonderful holiday. Reggie got his Xbox 360 from his mother and I got a Kitchen Aide mixer. OMG I don't know how I ever baked with out one :) We also got a nice set of sheets from her as well.
Christmas morning we went up to my mothers not expecting any gifts either since my mother had stated that she wasn't doing any gifts but I should have known better. We got 2 nice sets of Flannel sheets and a mattress cover from her and 2 puzzles. Then she also got reggie some nice fleece pj pants and I got a cute little bunnie stuffie and some cat scrapbook stickers. Then after opening presents we went out to a movie. We wanted so badly to see avatar in IMAX 3D but it was all sold out so we settled for The Blind Side. But in my opinion we didn't settle. Oh it was such a good movie. Its definitely one I have to buy when it comes out if we are able. Sandra Bullock did such a wonderful job. She really deserves that Oscar. I definitely suggest it if you can get a babysitter and go see it . I really want to meet him and that woman just so I can hug them. It was one of those feel good movies. We laughed a lot and cried a lot :) After the movie was over we headed home to have Stroganoff and funeral Potatoes for dinner and to open presents from my aunt Trudy. She got me these really funny looking but oh so warm spa booties slippers with these gel inserts that you can warm up in the microwave or freeze in the freezer to help with foot pain, soft socks, an angel snow globe and the Goonies on dvd. She also got us a 30 dollar Kroger gift card which came in handy for Reggie's birthday dinner coming up on Sunday. I also got Reggie some Transformer Pajamas and he got me some Penguin Pajamas :) I'll have to get a picture of us in our jammies some time :)
After listing all the loot we got this year it seems like we got a lot more than I originally thought but it was still a small Christmas filled with family and warmth. Today while Reggie and I were out with my mother in law, Sister Perkins said that because her family new that Christmas wasn't going to be much this year they were able to appreciate things more. And I think she was right. I found that this year I appreciated the time I spent with my mother in law and my own mother so much more than I have in the past. I loved my gifts but I think even if I hadn't had them that I'd have enjoyed my self the same amount. It was a good end of the year.
Today my mother in law took us out and paid our tags for Reggie's birthday and proceeded to spoil us rotten. Reggie also got 2 games for his xbox, Dragon Age Origins and MM2. I also got a Vera for my birthday since the color she was going to get me was retiring so she had to get it today. I'm not complaining, I just hate seeing the cute colors going away. Bye bye Raspberry Fizz.
Sunday is also Reggie's birthday. I'm making home made lasagna. He's super excited. Surprisingly more so about the lasagna than the red velvet cake I'm making as well LOL. Also while at lunch with his mother he got a phone call from Kroger, he'll be working 2 extra days starting next week. Its the 11 pm to 7 am shift but thats about 15 extra hours he'll be getting on top of the 12 he's been getting when they don't take them away from him. So thats about 27 hours a week. Only 3 hours away from full time. Who knows maybe he'll show him self enough that soon he'll be full time. Wouldn't that be nice. Well my next post will be pictures from Christmas. I'm sorry this has been a boring blog but I figured at least its not a depressed blog and I have some good things to say finally. :)

non one line update
I guess I should up date the blog and let you all know whats been going on with me and Reggie. Its been forever since I have even thought about blogging. Mainly due to the fact that its been really tough here for us lately. I am haveing a hard time believing that there is something for us in this world other than utter misery. But I've got to have faith and stick to the grind.
Reggie has found work with his father doing a horrible inventory job. I say horrible and I mean it. Honestly if he could find something else he'd be dropping it like that. His schedule is so off the rocker that I never know when I'm gonna see him for dinner or if I'm going to see him at all for several days. They do alot of Lowe's in the Carolina's. We are doing our best though. Even though its been tough not being able to always sit down and talk but I think that we've decided that we need to set aside time to do this. SO like we should have been doing before, the lack there of being that we were too lazy, we're going to be moving dinner from infront of the computers to sitting down at the kitchen....sorry DINING room table. I think I'm also gonna try and get him to go to the river walk with me once a week with our dog.
I still haven't found anything on the job front. I'm hoping that I can get on with one of the school districts around here as either a teacher's aide or a substitute teacher. My mother has also told me that she'd help out in trying to get me back into college to finish my associate's degree. I'm going to apply here at Macon State. I figure if I can get in and get student loans that will help us out until I can get my GACE Certification and I can "leagally" start teaching. It may only be pre-k but it would be in the career path that I've chosen.
I'd like to get reggie to consider moving to a new location and trying to start anew but I know that is not a possibility right now, finacially as well as the fact that both of us are close to our families and of course the pet problem. >.< It would be hard to find an apartment that would allow our whole family to live there. And I know it would be hard for me to sacrifice my babies but I think it would be harder on Reggie. He cringes at the thought everytime it gets brought up. But for right now they don't eat much and we can afford them. We charish all the love we recieve from them. I know I can only speak for myself on this but I know with out the love of my animals I really don't know how I'd have made it this far. I love my husband but he's not the best under stress, but neither am I.
On a side note, my mother in law gave us our christmas in july. She couldn't wait to give Reggie and his dad theirs. They both got a GPS system. Its nice. Its a Moterolla and it even says the name of the street not just Turn Right in 1 mile. Its nice :) I got my Vera Bradley I've been waning so badly. Its the Rasberry Fizz. Its small which is what I wanted. My old purse was so bulky. I loved it but it wasn't practical for everyday use. I kept knocking stuff over.
I'd post pictures but that will probably be Saturday evening. I have a really nice one that I LOVE but because reggie's teeth are showing and I know how he is about them I won't post it. I'll wait till he gets his hair trimmed and then I'll get a picture of the two of us. and post up an updated one with our short hair :)

So I finally broke down tonight and emailed several Dentists about the tooth I broke about 2 years back. I've babied it but have still managed to get a sever cavity in the tooth. I just feel so worthless for asking for charity from anyone like that. Well I guess it really isn't' charity. I offered to work in the office as payment. I'd try a payment plan if we could afford it but with both of us still out of work that's nearly impossible. I don't even know how we've managed to pull through the last few months. We wouldn't' be married right now if my mother hadn't stepped in and helped us out in the end. I'd just deal with it until we found something but the pain has gotten to the point where it hurts to swallow. I may just end up having it pulled. It will look funny since its my left bottom canine but I can manage looking silly just as long as the pain stops.
I keep getting discouraged. Every time we think we'll pull out on top something gets pulled out from under us. I feel as though I'm cursed. We finally got out of the nasty apartments and into a nice house only to have Reggie lose his job. I got the job of my dreams and just when I was starting to enjoy it and get good at it, it ends. And now every time we think that something just might go our way, everything goes to hell in a hand basket. I don't' know what to do really. I'd ask for help from the church but I'd feel horrible since I haven't been in so long. I need to start going again. I know I do but its so hard when you know that you need to save every last drop of gas for Reggie in case he gets that interveiw or incase I get called for a babysitting job or interview and the church is so far away. I really just feel like I've been abandoned. I know he's suposed to challenge us here on earth but at one point isn't it suposed to get better? Aren't you suposed to earn some time when the challenges aren't so burdoning? I'm at my wits end. I'm crying again when I should be happy that I'm with the most wonderful man god could allow me to have. And just when I think that blessing will pull me through something else goes wrong. I'd like to say atleast it can't get worse but I know it can. I had a control on my depression and ever since I lost my job in october I keep slipping further and further and I find it harder to bring myself back up. I feel so lost.
I apologize for putting this out there for all of you to read but I needed to get this off my chest.
